Repurposing: Shirt into Skirt with Wide Elastic Band

I usually don't have anything I don't need or use around my house, including clothes. As growing up, my mother always made sure, that if we just might store it, someone else can enjoy it. Ever since I can remember, each season changing we have our donations gather. Now, while I am sewing, I see so many lovely ideas and tutorials for refashioning that I had to give it a go. So, when my close friend gave me a bag full of clothing - I made sure I was having good look at it to see if and what I can refashion from =). And so I did!

made hair clip from shirt lefties

This one, was an adult shirt, that I cut according to this tutorial from Make it and Love it, and added an elastic wide band as this tutorial by Dana from Made say =) I love how it turns out  (and so does little one :)).

Tiny Ice Cream Top

Although my Serger isn't working well right now, I had to give this top a try. So, it wasn't easy as it should - but I am happy with it.

I used the Free Warhol dress pattern by Dana from Made, only I shorten it to make a top and not a dress. Her tutorial is so great, very easy to follow, and addictive I must say =D.

so very hard to get a photo out of a crawler he he

Fabric: Scraps of knit that I had around for some time now.

Dan.A drape dress

You already know how much I love DMK patterns. Now, my latest faves in sewing for me is DMK WOMEN which is under the Dan.A label. Seriously, you just can't go wrong with her patterns!

Fly test ;)

So you can guess, I was thrilled to be given the option to test this drape tunic dress. This one is just in continuing to this one. Very  COZY! Comfortable, and great to wear while running after the kiddies =) but, also, would be nice with the right make-up, shoes and jewelry for a night out.

I know I know..

The fun parts are that it was so easy and quick to sew this one! And, the way that this pattern is build I think I would like to try and make a cute top from it is upper part only =).

would be nice - just as a top as well
Last, I must say that my patterned fabric here is very bad choice for this lovely pattern, since you can't really see the beauty of the tunic at the bottom part, it should be made out of solids ones...(note for my next one :)).
Yay, he he, me over excited

Fabric: Printed knit (I think now that it was too expensive for its quality..)
Pattern: Dan.A

we set the timer so we will finally have us all in one photo =)

Little things

I am addicted...the cutie is overtaking our house soon =D
Pattern is Free from here. I did not make it as cover, but stuffed and closed it for the girls to play with this strange looking amigurumi doll. If you'd like it close I simply did sc2tog (sc decrease) all the way around to the end, and fasten off =).

My Cozy Twister Tunic Top

While being with the girls after school days, I like to wear comfortable clothes! Running, lifting, releasing, gathering, singing, playing, cleaning and getting dirty, well you know it all - I want to be able to move free - And still look something like a Woman and not just as Mother =).
And while Weight loss is still an issue I am working on since giving birth, I was browsing for some nice patterns that will answer my needs (so far he he).

And this is why I really like this 'Twister dress' pattern. Very easy and quick to sew, each fabrics will give it a different 'twist' ;). I made from this pattern not only casuals and it is great! =) (One day I'll get photo..) It is VERY COMFORTABLE!!!

Fabric: Light knit 15% stretch. Was really good bargain - I got around 4 m' from it =D. (I love the tiny glitters).

Almost Spring

well yeh, that's the best I could get =p

After baby Alona was born, I have to make two of each (no matter what it is =D) I MUST learn that already by now!!!

I made baby Alona tiny skirt and tiny diaper cover. My girl immediately asked for herself one as well =).

I could not get a nice photos of them both wearing it though, tiny one didn't agree to have her skirt on at all =D.

I love this fabric!

Fabric: Light weight 100% cotton (from local shop 'fabrics for             designers').
Patterns: Skirts - Simple skirt, Dana from 'Made' tutorial. Diaper cover - Free pattern and tutorial from Prudentbaby.

Lavender and Violet Baby Blanket

I have some family and friends babies on the way =)), so you might see lots of baby stuff around here. This one has one side fleece and the other 100% cotton rectangles.

I couldn't help it =D

Check out these beautiful elastics =). I went inside this new tiny shop that had them piled up, all on one another, and rolled to the Wrong side..(WHY??) It was very hard to browse them (since I was with baby Alona and her stroller in this tiny shop..and they were back facing).

They were for 2$ only, I will definitely will go back there alone, they had some amazing elastics there. It would be great for interesting circular skirts.

Cowl Neck Vest

Sorry no good pics this time as well =p

I find it very hard (and almost impossible) to get a good photo of my "sewing for me" new ones. I just don't know how you all get to pull this off... My husband is working most of the time, and on weekends, I am usually behind the Cam, and he is busy playing with the girls =P.... If we do, somehow manage to get some photos of mine - he he it is so awful, blurry, puke stains, or photos of my face only he he and you name it...

Anyway, this top is one of my faves for the past warm days =). Very comfortable, (easy to breast feed with) and this is really my day to day style. I have already cut few other fabrics for this one, since I love it so much.

Fabric: light Knit, just perfect for the weather.
Pattern: from the lovely DMK Women.
